Title Analysis.
The title can sustain or break what the thumbnail promises. This analysis evaluates it across four dimensions to detect whether it communicates clearly or whether its complexity, neutrality or contradiction with the thumbnail penalizes it before the click.
← Back to What the system measuresHow many distinct topics coexist in the title. The more scattered, the lower the projected performance.
Positive, negative or neutral tone. Any emotional charge beats neutrality.
Content type: series, one-off, tutorial, news or institutional.
The 4 dimensions.
Topic Complexity
How many distinct topics compete within the same title. The more scattered, the less clear the message and the lower the projected performance.
Sentiment
The tone of the title. Positive or negative both work; a neutral tone is the weakest condition.
Cluster
Series, one-off, tutorial, news… classifying the title lets you compare it with others of the same type.
Thumbnail ↔ title coherence
Whether the title reinforces the thumbnail's story, leaves it in tension or contradicts it.
The paradox to watch for
The most damaging pattern: the thumbnail poses a question and the title already answers it. It happens more often than it seems, and it's one of the first things fixed when auditing a channel.
Two ideas that apply to any channel.
- Any emotional charge beats neutrality: a title with no tone is the weakest condition.
- A longer title is not a title with more information: when it adds topics instead of reinforcing one, it dilutes the message.
